While we were still in Texas, we made an eighteen hour trek up to Maryland to visit with a church family for the week of Joshua's birthday. We also had the opportunity to visit with his dad and grandma, who live in Pennsylvania, while there.
We visited Baltimore with some new friends and went to the acquarium. Ethan really loved his new buddy!
Yes, even in March the heavy coats were a necessity.
And here are the snow pictures! We prayed for a good snow that was in the forecast while we were up there and it definitely happened! At least eight inches of fluffiness that we all enjoyed, along with the snow cream that followed :-)
We will always treasure our Maryland visit memories and the friends we made there.
It's been over two years since I logged on for a new post. Seriously? Has life gotten that crazy? Yeah...adding a third precious child, homeschooling, and working from home seriously rocked my world. We enjoyed a beautiful and loving ministry at Corinth Church in those two years I have been MIA from the blogosphere. As of October 2017, we are Pennsylvania dwellers. God called us to change our place of ministry back in May. Since then we visited a few churches sharing the calling God gave our family. The "arctic" air is definitely an adjustment for my southern soul. I feel like a sense of normalcy is finally falling into place in our home. Months of transition, traveling, packing, and unpacking can definitely wreak havoc to schedules.
An update is not the purpose of my need to write today. It comes from a longing to be intentional. After four years of skipping resolutions and choosing a word for the year, I wanted to write about this years' word choice. &q…
It's not November, and yet...I can't think of a better moment to just sit and bask in the goodness of our Great God. Currently I am reading along with the "Love God Greatly" Bible study through James. One of the verses to SOAP this week was found in James 1:17 it states, "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above..." So as I type these words, I'm just counting my blessings. Every day. Every breath is one of the good gifts from our Father. Every moment with my husband. Every smile from my sweet E babies (not so much babies anymore) is a perfect from above. Every sip of coffee is his sweet grace.
My Joshua recently wrote an update on life in Pennsylvania, and intentions. While that is definitely a real life account about how we may think things will go versus how they actually happen. He reminded me of the assurance and hope we have in Jesus. There are so many things that have been unexpected blessings. For instance, the sweet friendshi…
One of my favorite movies growing up was Bambi...and I'll never forget his cute little rabbit friend named Thumper. Even as a four year old I remember Thumper's mother prompting him to say, "If you can't say somethin' nice, don't say nothin' at all." That phrase became one my Momma would repeat to my sister and I when we were having a disagreement or just for good measure.
I have been reminded more than once that Thumper's wisdom is applicable for me as an adult possibly even more that when I was a child. In fact I believe that it is Scriptural, Proverbs 21:23 says, "Whoso keepeth his mouth and his tongue keepeth his soul from troubles." Proverbs 31: 26 says that the virtuous woman "openeth her mouth with wisdom: and in her tongue is the law of kindness." Colosians 4:6 states, "Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with sought, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man." Proverbs 17:27 states, &q…
