Texas Road Trip
|This is the same Mr. Gatti's that Joshua ate at as a kid!|
Tuesday: we went to see the Alamo and the River Walk; since it rained that morning we sought refuge in the Children's Museum. Ethan had a ball (literally). After the museum we drove to Corpus Christi and ate at Mr. Gatti's. It was the exact same restaurant that Joshua's parents would take him and his brother went to while they lived in the area.
|Wednesday: we visited Padre Island and took Ethan to the beach. It was perfect, especially since it was deserted until people got off of work. It was so fun to watch him play in the sand with his cars, bucket, and shovel. We went to a couple of beach shops, a park, and afterward then got some Marble Slab Ice cream, and had a hot dog picnic! It was so much fun!!!|
Saturday: We drove back to Carthage Saturday morning for Joshua to preach and lead worship at the Winkler House (assisted living). Ethan and I usually join him but nap time lulled Ethan to sleep and we had to miss the meeting. Joshua said that they had record attendance (and all the ladies were asking about Ethan). We'll definitely have to join him next time! That afternoon we prepared for the Travis Lee family to come and sing at our church that evening. The concert was God glorifying and the music uplifting. We hosted the Lee's in our home that evening and they had to get traveling on to their next service this morning around six.
Today I could sense the renewal in the power Joshua's preaching. The Lord truly spoke through my husband as he imparted the Word about the Love of God. We praise that Lord also for the two families and man who visited today. The Lord has been using Joshua and Mrs. Mary in picking up children with the van for several months now, and today it was so exciting to see two families who have been sending their children to church come for the worship service this morning. But the best part of the day was to hear that Breeana (who has been riding the van for three weeks) came to know Christ this morning in Sunday School! Hallelujah the Word does not return void!
