Youth Aflame 2011*

We had a great time at Youth Aflame this year!  The Lord used the conference to speak to our hearts as well as the hearts of our teens.  WE are so excited about one of our girls getting saved and another surrendering her life to be a missionary.  God is so good and we are just privileged to serve Him.

*There are also some pictures of family day on the slides :) We had a great time getting to spend the afternoon with alot of our teen and junior families.  A special thank you to all the men and women who took time out of their day to help prepare food and serve it.  We love you and appreciate your service to the Lord.

Father's Day Photos

First Father's Day

There's nothing in the world like a Father's love.  Just observing the bond my boys share is an illustration of that.  What is a Father?  He is one who loves, provides, protects, teaches, trains, and has fun with his children and so much more.  I just love to watch Joshua and Ethan get in the floor and play.

Or explore outside,
Then enjoy some snuggle time.  Happy First Father's Day, Joshua!  You are an amazing husband and Daddy!  I love you so much and know that Ethan does too!

Just as our earthly Father's are there to love, provide, protect, teach, and train us; our Heavenly Father does all this and so much more.

I was thinking back on my own childhood memories this morning as I ate a biscuit with some Alabama Eagle Syrup.  Memories of me and my daddy "sopping" our biscuits many school mornings came flooding back.  Watching Saturday morning cartoons in his lap while eating a bowl of Fruity Pebbles, playing games, wrestling, family vacations, sitting in his c…

Penn- Anniversary Vacation

Our lil' family of three hit the happy trails last Sunday afternoon when the kids had been taken home.  We were packed up and ready to go!  So we traveled to Roanoke Rapids, NC which is almost halfway, and went to church with our friends Bradley and Shelley Dixon who are co-missionaries with Mr. and Mrs. Fredd Carraway.  It was so exciting to see God moving and working in their area.
We arrived in Everett, PA a little before lunch so we could spend the day with the Hortons!  We enjoyed lunch with Grandpa Will, Grandma Horton, Aunt Wanda, and .  Then we toured Aunt Wanda's farm, and just visited for a while.  Ethan enjoyed playing with his second cousin Benny who is almost two.  Later the girls and Ethan went to pick up some chicken for dinner print out some pictures for Grandma Horton at Rite Aid.  We had such a good time with our family, just wish PA wasn't so far so we could see them more often.

We traveled to Lake Harmony that night and really enjoyed our resort throughou…

Once Upon a Time

Not so long ago, there lived a young maiden who grew up dreaming about finding her Prince Charming and living "happily ever after."  She wished, hoped, and prayed that God would give her a brave, poetic, charming, handsome, tall, romantic, compassionate, zealous, fervent, creative, soul-winning Prince who would sweep her off her feet so that they could serve the Lord together.

God scripted a friendship, that became a love story that only He could.  The maiden's prayers and dreams had been fulfilled when meeting her Prince.  God blessed them with a precious little boy, and they reign as King and Queen of Hortonia living Happily Ever After.
Two years ago today, I married my best friend and my beloved.  Happy Anniversary, my Joshua.  I love you with all my heart, forever and always.
